Based on the practice of namasté, NAMA was born out of a desire to provide modern Indian dishes with traditional roots. After we bowed to the food gods, we got to work.
NAMA serves rich and flavorful Indian cuisine in the heart of Richmond’s Arts District.
WHAT WE DID
Naming & tagline development
Logo design
Identity system development
We look for ways to add meaning to our marks. Deep connections to subject matter signify.
The NAMA logo, in particular, has a lot of influence from the Indian culture owners Kunal Shah and Neal Patel wanted to showcase for their restaurant. The mark formally combines a person sitting in namasté pose with arch shape popular in Indian architecture. The custom type treatment is inspired by the traditional dot rangoli art form.
We are a collective of experienced strategists and designers able to execute across a broad range of branding needs.
