Richmond Ballet’s evolution had gained more national & international exposure for their new works. Needing to replace a beloved—but dated—identity, we got to work.
Richmond Ballet’s mission is to awaken and uplift the human spirit, both for audiences and artists.
WHAT WE DID
Branding
Logo development
Identity system development
Graphic, signage & digital design
Photography art direction
A performing arts company needs a living identity that can coexist with it’s seasonal productions.
The monogram logo is based on the concept of point(e) and line—two foundational elements of dance. This is carried through the rest of the identity elements—silhouettes that emphasize movement over individual dancers, and patterns that are flexible enough to create a variety of moods—classic, modern, serious, childish, etc.
A flexible system to capture the joy of dance for all the audiences of Richmond Ballet.
We set up identity systems that are sustainable for in-house designers, flexible for changing needs year after year, and dynamic enough that allows evolution as the organization continues to grow and evolve.
We are a collective of experienced strategists and designers able to execute across a broad range of branding needs.
