Richmond Ballet needed a season look with Swan Lake as it’s anchor ballet performance. We took Richmond, Va’s nickname literally. Nose plugs in, we got to work.

Yes, those dancers really are in the water for this shoot—a testament to the professional athletes of Richmond Ballet that embraced this crazy idea and knocked it out of the park. Photographer Tom Maher and his team shot all these in a local pool in one full day of shooting. Aliceblue allowed the imagery to come to life. Our goal each season is to position Richmond Ballet as an accessible, exciting performing art company as well as live up to their national reputation as a company that creates and performs the highest quality productions.
