Feeling like an artifact-heavy exhibit might dissuade guests, VMFA wanted to breathe fire into their Forbidden City exhibit. Armed with unique ideas, we got to work.
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) purpose is to collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret art, to encourage the study of the arts, and thus to enrich the lives of all.
WHAT WE DID
Campaign identity development
Wayfinding & signage design
Advertising design (digital, print, OOH)
Beer label & coaster design
Gift shop merchandise
Partnering with Richmond’s largest brewery, Hardywood, provided a unique opportunity to create a special edition beer (with dragon fruit).
Distributed to all of Hardywood’s restaurant partners over the course of the exhibit, we created the beer label, coasters, tent cards, and posters given to restaurants for high exposure. Coasters featured exhibit facts with a hashtag to interact with a digital campaign. Hardywood even threw a release party at their brewery for the general public.
We are a collective of experienced strategists and designers able to execute across a broad range of branding needs.
