VPM News Focal Point is a PBS news program reporting Virginia news at the intersection of national hot-button issues. With a name that conveys both micro and macro viewpoints, we got to work.
VPM News Focal Point is a weekly half-hour show framing statewide news through a lens of in-depth reporting on culture, politics, business, health, the environment, race, science and the arts.
WHAT WE DID
Logo + visual identity
Identity system development
Campaign conceptual development
The dot in the logo is simple, but powerful.
This simple circle does a lot of heavy lifting. In addition to reinforcing the Point in it’s name, it’s used as a frame or a replacement point to bring emotion into the visual identity.
The tapestry approach to imagery highlights the variety of Virginia issues they deep dive into. It’s a lens. It’s a focal point. It’s a way of delivering news that considers many angles.
We developed both rectangular and circular grids that their in-house graphics team can use when creating graphics.
We are a collective of experienced strategists and designers able to execute across a broad range of branding needs.
